Function
BICD2 mainly localizes to the Golgi complex and has properties of a peripheral coat protein, yet it also co-localizes with dy ctin at microtubule plus ends and BICD2 plays a role in the dynein- dy ctin interaction on the surface of membranous organelles (11483508). BICD2 specifically concentrated around centrosomes at the base of cilia(24614806). BICD2 depletion leads to a significant reduction in ciliation overexpressing BICD2, revealing a significant promotion of ciliogenesis (PMID: 38526325)
Model organism evidence
Mus musculus (1 reference)
