Function

CCDC181 and ERICH3 showed a similar pattern of localization at the proximal region of the axoneme, we also labeled ciliated cells using specific antibodies for both proteins. CCDC181 does co-localize with the signal for Ac-TUB, but does not completely overlap the signal for ERICH3. Considering the high versatility of the coiled-coiled protein folding motif (72), CCDC181 could be involved in almost any aspect of ciliary structure or function(PMID: 28282151).C1orf87 has located to motile cilia.
