Function

Ccdc63 is essential for spermiogenesis: testes of Ccdc63 mutant mice contain spermatids with a developing acrosome but lacking elongating flagella (Young et al., 2015, Int J Mol Sci, PMID 26501274). Identified by cryo-EM as a component of the outer dynein arm docking complex in sperm flagella (Leung et al., 2025, Nature, PMID 39743588).
