Function
MST1/2 has a noncanonical function: regulation of microtubule stability/dy mics. Loss of MST1/2 or its target(s) NDR1/2 destabilizes kinetochore-microtubule attachment during mitosis ( 20171103 , 19327996). MST1/2 binds and phosphorylates AURKA, leading to dissociation of the AURKA/HDAC6 cilia-disassembly complex, and MST1/2-SAV1 associates with the NPHP transition-zone complex, promoting ciliary localization of multiple ciliary cargoes ( 25367221). CDKN2B gene is enrolled in the Transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway (GO:0007179) (41005307).
