Subcellular localization
basal body, centrosome, cytosol
Functional category
- Ciliary assembly/disassembly
- Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
- Protein processing & maturation
Function
Plk4 clearly colocalized with Cep192 or Cep152, albeit with only a small fraction of their sig ls . Cep192 and Cep152 competitively interacted with the cryptic polo box of Plk4 through their homologous N-termi l sequences containing acidic-δΌͺ-helix and N/Q-rich motifs(24277814).
Model organism evidence
C. elegans (1 reference)
Super-resolution imaging revealed that this PCM inserts inside the lumen of the ciliary axoneme and directly nucleates the assembly of dendritic microtubules toward the cell body.
