Subcellular localization

basal body, centrosome, cytosol, nucleus

Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly
  • Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
  • Protein processing & maturation

Function

The ciliary function of CYLD is partially attributed to its deconjugation of the polyubiquitin chain from centrosomal protein of 70 kDa (Cep70), a requirement for Cep70 to interact with 纬-tubulin and localize at the centrosome(25342559).

A role for Cep70 in centriole amplification in multiciliated cells.

Mus musculus (2 references)

CYLD mediates ciliogenesis in multiple organs by deubiquitinating Cep70 and inactivating HDAC6.

RNA interference (RNAi)-mediated knockdown of CRC70 produces flagella-less cells and inhibits the recruitment of other centriole components, such as SAS-6 and Bld10p to the centriole.

Cep70 and Cep131 contribute to ciliogenesis in zebrafish embryos.
