Function

Interacts with BBS protein complex subunits, as well as 伪- and 尾-tubulin. Expression enhances primary cilia formation and cilia length in A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells. Elongating spermatids in Dlec1-/- mice show head deformation, a shortened tail, and abnormal manchette organization. These phenotypes were similar to those of various intraflagellar transport (IFT)-associated gene-deficient sperm ( 33144677). DLEC1 expression slightly but significantly increased ciliary length.
