Function
dmc1, which encodes an essential meiotic recombi tion protein, as the major target gene of E2f5 during spermatogenesis. E2f5 can bind to the promoter of dmc1 to promote homologous recombi tion, and overexpression of dmc1 significantly increased the fertilization rate of e2f5 mutant males ( 32196499).
Model organism evidence
Mus musculus (1 reference)
Our transcriptome analysis showed that there was not a remarkable change in the expression of most of the genes involved in the pathways associated with the meiotic DNA repair and flagella assembly.
