Function

Highly conserved WD-repeat protein which acts as part of a chaperone complex involved in pre-assembly of axonemal dynein in the cytoplasm. Required for motile ciliogenesis in pla rian Schmidtea mediterranea, knockdowns have partial loss of dynein arms (26912790). Works with the D AF Spag1 at a distinct stage in dynein preassembly to regulate cytoplasmic pre- assembly of ciliary dynein in Drosophila (29743191). Functions with the HSP90 co-chaperone R2TP-like complex and other D AFs in axonemal dynein preassembly in the cytoplasm of Chlamydomo s (30428028). Stablises axonemal dynein heavy chains in cytoplasm in Chlamydomo s (31116681)
