Function

Essential for the docking of basal bodies to the apical plasma membrane through the activation of the Rho GTPase. DVL and Rho are required for the planar polarization of basal bodies that underlies directional beating of cilia (18552847). DVL is a central component of WNT signalling. PTEN regulates multicilia formation and cilia disassembly by controlling the phosphorylation of DVL (26399523).
