Phenotypes

Mouse phenotype:
hyperactivity, preweaning lethality, incomplete penetrance, decreased circulating alkaline phosphatase level, pallor, unresponsive to tactile stimuli, abnormal skin appearance, decreased circulating glucose level

Subcellular localization

cilia

Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly
  • Trafficking (BBSome, small GTPases, vesicular transport, ATPases)
  • Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
  • Metabolism
  • Ciliary membrane

Function

Also known as Sec15. Interacts with Rabin8 and is a downstream effector of Rab8. Rabin8-Rab8-Sec15 interaction is involved in the regulation of vesicular trafficking, tethering, and fusion for primary cilium formation. Disruption of function of Sec15 leads to a block of endosomal recycling and impaired ciliogenesis (22433857, 23435566).
