  • Reproduction & sperm

Function

FSCB serum recognized with an intense sig l the entire length of the principal piece of both non-fixed, air dried and methanol-fixed non-capacitated sperm by indirect immunofluorescence microscopy (17855365).

Model organism evidence

Mus musculus (2 references)

The fibrous sheath (FS) is a flagellar cytoskeletal structure unique to sperm that surrounds the outer dense fibers and axoneme.

We report characterization of a novel testis- and sperm-specific protein, FSCB (fibrous sheath CABYR binding), that is expressed post-meiotically and localized in mouse sperm flagella.
