Function
Among the ciliogenesis modulators with high confirmation screen scores are two Gelsolin (GSN) family proteins GSN and AVIL, which regulate cytoskeletal actin organization by severing actin filaments11. Depletion of GSN proteins by two independent siRNAs significantly reduced ciliated cell numbers, suggesting that actin filament severing is involved in ciliogenesis (20393563).
