Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly
  • Trafficking (BBSome, small GTPases, vesicular transport, ATPases)
  • Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
  • Reproduction & sperm

Function

Also known as IFT25. Not required in ciliogenesis of somatic cells. Component of IFT-B complex and maight be involved in retrograde transport. Interacts with IFT27 and is indispensable for sperm flagellum axoneme formation, integrity and stability in mice, as well as contributing to the trafficking of sig lling molecules via BBSome complex. (28430876, 28964737, 30709917). Regulation of ciliary trafficking of Hh pathway components, including Patched-1, Smoothened, and Gli2 (26023097, 22595669).
