Phenotypes

Mouse phenotype:
abnormal skin coloration, preweaning lethality, complete penetrance, increased circulating triglyceride level

Subcellular localization

basal body, cytosol, microtubules, nucleus

Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly
  • Trafficking (BBSome, small GTPases, vesicular transport, ATPases)
  • Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
  • Metabolism
  • Signaling (Hedgehog, GPCRs, ion channels)

Function

Exogenous KIF2A, KIF2B, and KIF2C all localized to the basal bodys, and KIF2A and KIF2C, but not KIF2B, reduced ciliated cells to around 10%–20% compared with the control AcGFP1 (25660017).
