Function

Absence of galectin-3 influences the stabilization of centrosomes and primary cilia, with effects on epithelial cell organization(19923323). Mutant primary cilia are irregular, bent, twisted and longer than wild type primary cilia, indicating that Galectin-3 is essential for primary cilium growth.
