Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly

Function

Forms a ring-like structure and regulates ciliogenesis by modulating CP110-CEP97 complex recruitment and localization at the mother centriole, by directly binding CEP97, which blocks cilia assembly in cycling cells able to form cilia. degradation of MPP9 facilitates the removal of the CP110-CEP97 complex from basal bodies and promotes cilia formation (30375385).
