Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly
  • Trafficking (BBSome, small GTPases, vesicular transport, ATPases)
  • Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
  • Reproduction & sperm
  • Protein processing & maturation

Function

Required for localization of ninein to the appendages of the mother centriole, for the formation of the appendages necessary for primary cilia formation, as it to appears to origi te from the Odf2- positive end (15852003). It associates with Cep128 in the construction of subdistal appendages (30623524). Critical in the formation of basal feet, important for the polarization of basal bodies and coordi ted beating of cilia (22265411).
