Function
Interacts with Rib72, FAP252, and FAP20 to regulate ciliary motility (27770595). Required for proper activation of dynein-driven microtubule sliding and for the assembly of regulatory components. Mutations lead to reduced assembly of inner-arm dynein IDA b, the beak-MIP structures and cause severe motility defects (31116684).
Model organism evidence
C. elegans (1 reference)
Ectopic introduction of PCRG-1 into cilia generated abnormal MT doublets in the distal segment and reduced intraflagellar transport and animal sensation.

Mus musculus (1 reference)
DNALI1 interacts with the MEIG1/PACRG complex within the manchette and is required for proper sperm flagellum assembly in mice.
