- Signaling (Hedgehog, GPCRs, ion channels)
Function
Also called PAR3. Interacts with Par6 and aPKC to form a polarity complex that regulates the stability of the ciliary axoneme (15324661). It is required for the elongation of primary cilia, possibly by facilitating anterograde transport of cargo. Interacts with Kif3a, anterograde motor for IFT (18070914, 25144710). PAR3 is also required for apical localisation of centrosome and may also be involved in the proper orientation of the axoneme (20138861).
Model organism evidence
Drosophila (1 reference)
Primary cilium migration depends on G-protein signalling control of subapical cytoskeleton.
