  • Metabolism
  • T cell biology
  • Neurogenesis & migration
  • Protein processing & maturation
  • Cell migration & adhesion
  • Signaling (Hedgehog, GPCRs, ion channels)

Function

Pax6 have the presence of primary cilia in amacrine cells of adult primates(34241625) and Pax6 controls centriole maturation in cortical progenitors through Odf2(25352170).

Model organism evidence

Mus musculus (1 reference)

We observed cells expressing FOXJ1 in the central region in all cases, which co-expressed SOX2 and PAX6 as well as RFX2 and ARL13B, two proteins involved in ciliogenesis and cilia-mediated sonic hedgehog signaling, respectively.
