Function

RSPH6A is required for sperm flagellar assembly and male fertility in mice. Interacts with RSPH1, RSPH4A, RSPH9 and RSPH10B, where nteraction of RSPH6A and RSPH9 is important to incorporate RSPH9 into the flagella. Absence of RSPH6A leads to immotile spermatozoa in mice (30185526). Expressed exclusively in testicular germ cells during meiosis. Rsph6a is phosphorylated by PKA during sperm capacitation (30239614).
