Function

Immunolocalization showed that SPATA19 specifically resides in the sperm tail, appearing first during late spermatogenesis and remaining with mature sperm stored in the epididymis. SPATA19 plays an important role in sperm motility by regulating the organization and function of the mitochondria (PMID: 26265198).
