Subcellular localization
basal body, cytosol, nucleus
Functional category
- Ciliary assembly/disassembly
- Trafficking (BBSome, small GTPases, vesicular transport, ATPases)
- Actin & cytoskeleton regulation
- Cell migration & adhesion
- Signaling (Hedgehog, GPCRs, ion channels)
Function
Regulates the actin cytoskeleton, forming a sig lling complex with WAVE-1 to regulate its activation. 10% of SrGAP3 knockout mice die from hydrocephalus and display ependymal cells with reduced density of cilia but without alterations in the length (26104135).
Model organism evidence
Mus musculus (1 reference)
This results indicate that the ventricular enlargement may be due to ciliopathy.
