Phenotypes

Mouse phenotype:
increased circulating sodium level, increased red blood cell distribution width, increased mean platelet volume, decreased cd11b-low dendritic cell number, decreased lean body mass, increased total body fat amount, decreased gamma-delta t cell number, decreased bone mineral content, decreased mean corpuscular hemoglobin, increased circulating insulin level, decreased klrg1-positive nk cell number, increased monocyte cell number, increased fasting circulating glucose level, decreased grip strength, impaired glucose tolerance, increased ly6c low monocyte number, increased ly6c high monocyte number, increased cd11b-high dendritic cell number, abnormal vibrissa morphology
Human ciliopathy phenotype:
intellectual disability, autosomal recessive 13; intellectual disability-obesity-brain malformations-facial dysmorphism syndrome

Subcellular localization

basal body

Functional category

  • Ciliary assembly/disassembly
  • Trafficking (BBSome, small GTPases, vesicular transport, ATPases)

Function

Component of a mammalian TRAPPII complex. Required for Rabin8 centrosomal targeting prior to ciliogenesis. Knockdown impares cilia formation by inhibiting Rabin8 recruitment to the centrosome (21273506).
