Function
It may function in initiating glygylation modification by attaching the first glycine to tubulin. Interacts with TTLL10 and is required for TTLL10 efficient tubulin glycylation function (19427864). Redundant function with TTLL3, as both are unique monoglycylating enzymes in mammals. Required for stability and mainte nce of motile ependymal cilia. Absence of TTL3 leads to absence of glycylation on axonemes, destabilising motile ependymal cilia and resulting in ciliary disassembly (23897886, 25180231).
