Function
Required for the mainte nce of axonemes of sperm, absence of VDAC3 in the mouse leads to defective axonemal structures in sperm and immotility (11507092). Modulates centriole assembly by recruites Mps1 to centrosomes. VDAC3-Mps1 interaction promotes ciliary disassembly during cell cycle entry and prevents cilia assembly in proliferating cells (23388454, 26264029).
