POC16 in Chlamydomonas, localises to the central core region of the centriole in Chlamydomonas, which correlates with the region of tubulin glutamylation in humans. Recruited after the cartwheel protein CrSAS-6 and before tubulin glutamylation. Localizes to mother and daughter centrioles in human RPE1 cells and is required for ciliogenesis (28781053)
