Function
Both immunofluorescence enhanced microscopy and scanning electron microscopy revealed profound perturbations of ciliogenesis in ZNF676-overexpressing cells, characterized by abnormally short and disorganized cilia . A comparison of the transcriptomes of these cells and their LacZ-transduced controls revealed that a large fraction of differentially expressed genes were related to the cilium. Primary normal human broncho-epithelial (NHBE) cells with lentivectors harboring dox-controllable versions of ZNF676 or LacZ and induced the expression of these transgenes upon triggering differentiation into ciliated cells at an air-liquid interface.
